AN AUSTRALIAN SERVICE

  • The local advantage. In Australia, where we are geographically remote from overseas cryonic storage facilities, Southern Cryonics is a Not-For-Profit organisation that operates the first cryonic facility in the southern hemisphere. We provide a local service without the increased risks posed by international transportation.
  • A chance for life extension. When a person can no longer be supported by current medical technology, and burial or cremation are the only other alternatives, cryonics offers a chance for life extension.
  • Using established scientific techniques. Cryonic suspension employs the very cold temperatures of liquid nitrogen (below – 150⁰ C) to preserve a person whose clinical death has been legally declared.
  • Over the very long term. Preservation is maintained without any significant biological deterioration over centuries if necessary, allowing ample time for medical science to advance and potentially overcome the current causes of death.

THE CASE FOR CRYONICS

  • Affordability. Most cryonic suspensions are funded through life insurance. At age 40, the typical cost is only about $600 per year.
  • Rejuvenation. While there are no guarantees in cryonics, advancements in medical science could allow you to wake up in the future with a young, healthy body.
  • Optimism. Cryonics gives hope through science and the opportunity to participate in a bright future.
